Raipur, January 7, 2026: A major success has been achieved in the direction of eliminating Naxalism in the Bastar division. In Sukma district, 26 hardcore Maoists, including 7 women, carrying a reward of Rs 64 lakhs, have surrendered and returned to the mainstream.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that this is not just an achievement on the security front, but a victory of human trust and dialogue.
Sai said that the direct result of the balanced security strategy and sensitive rehabilitation policy implemented in Chhattisgarh, in line with the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the clear resolve of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is now visible.
‘The ‘Poona Margem – Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation’ campaign has instilled new hope in the lives of those young people who had once strayed into the illusionary trap of Naxalism, he said.
The continuous establishment of security camps, the expansion of basic facilities like roads, electricity, education, and health, and the direct reach of the government to remote areas have started changing the picture of Bastar. Today, the voice of trust, not fear, resonates in Bastar.

Chief Minister Sai welcomed all the Maoists who surrendered and said that the government’s doors are always open for those who abandon the path of violence. Opportunities for a dignified life, security, and a better future will be provided.
Sai also said that the permanent solution to the Naxal problem lies in security, development, and trust.
The Chief Minister appealed to the remaining Maoists to return to the mainstream, urging them to choose the path of peace, family, and progress. The state government will provide full cooperation in their rehabilitation and resettlement.
The Chief Minister said that Bastar has taken a decisive step towards peace today, and with every surrender, the resolve for a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh is becoming even stronger.
