Raipur, September 26, 2023: Chhattisgarh cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today decided to start the procurement of paddy and maize from November 1 in the state, official sources said.
The paddy procurement process under the minimum support price would start from November 1, 2023 and will continue till January 31, 2024, official sources said citing today’s cabinet decision.
It was also decided to procure 20 quintals paddy per acre from this season, they said. Previously the state was purchasing 15 quintals of paddy per acre of land from the registered farmers.
Similarly the state will start purchase of maize under the minimum support price from November 1, 2023 and would continue till February 28, 2024.
The state government has also decided to purchase maximum 10 quintal of maize, including under linking, the sources said.
