With the help of x-ray problems in the body could be identified and resolved, similarly caste census is the x-ray of India and this will help in drafting a better strategy for development, Gandhi said.
We need to know the population of tribals, other backward castes, generals and other castes and their actual conditions, so that a better approach could be taken, he said.
With a proper caste census a proper strategy could be drafted for the overall development of all the sections of the society, Gandhi told a meeting at Parsada village of Bilaspur district.
Along with the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Gandhi also launched the Chhattisgarh Gramin Awas Nyaya Yojana.
It was under the prime ministership of Rajiv Gandhi that the India Awas was started in 1985, Chief Minister Baghel said adding due to lack of census in 2021 people were not benefitted for the housing scheme.
