Raipur, January 17, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today removed Anand Chhabra from the post of Intelligence head of Chhattisgarh state.
The 2001 batch IPS Chhabra was appointed Intelligence head by the previous Congress government, headed by Bhupesh Baghel, and BJP complaint Chhabra was a close confidant of Baghel.

Prior to the Assembly election BJP in opposition had complaint against Chhabra to the government of India and especially to the Union Home Minister accusing him of working like a political agent to the Congress party.
Amit Kumar will now head the Intelligence unit of the state government.
A 1998 batch IPS Amit Kumar had for a longer period served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in many prominent positions.
Amit Kumar is appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) in place of Anand Chhabra, a state government order said.
Fresh posting of Anand Chhabra has not yet been announced.
He has been put on compulsory wait till further order, official sources said.
Amit Kumar has vast experience in working in deep Maoist areas as well as in urban areas like Raipur as district Superintendent of Police.
