Raipur, December 10, 2008: Chhattisgarh Governor E S L Narasimhan today invited Dr Raman Singh to form the government in the state.
A delegation of BJP, including state In Charge Dharmendra Pradhan, Election In Charge Ravi Shankar Prasad and senior leader Brij Mohan Agrawal besides Singh, today afternoon met the Governor, Raj Bhawan sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.
Prasad informed the Governor in that meeting that Dr Raman Singh has been
elected earlier in the day as the BJP Legislature Party leader, they said.
Governor congratulated Singh for his victory and invited him to form the next government in the state, the sources added.
It had earlier been decided by the ruling BJP that Singh would take oath at the Police Parade Ground on Friday at noon in the presence of several top central leaders, including L K Advani and Rajnath Singh.
The election process in the state has to be completed by December 13, the Election Commission notification also said.
