Raipur, December 11, 2008: The new Congress MLAs of Chhattisgarh are meeting on Saturday to elect their leader, a top party office bearer said today.
The Congress Legislature Party is meeting at Hotel Celebration on Saturday to decide its new leader, the top leader told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
AICC General Secretaries Janardan Dwivedi, B K Hari Prasad and V Narayan Samy would be present in that meeting as the Central Observers, they said.
The MLAs are meeting to elect their new Leader of the Legislature Party, which would in turn become the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly.
Although Congress has increased its vote base by one per cent but the people decided it to sit in the Opposition bench for another five years with 37 MLAs in the 90 member assembly.
