New Delhi, January 25, 2024: Ashu Mathur has taken charge as the Chief Adviser (Cost) in Department of Expenditure, Union Ministry of Finance, official sources said today.
Consequent upon approval of Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Ashu Mathur, Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS), Chief Adviser (Cost), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has assumed the charge in Level-17 (Apex level) on Monday last.

Mathur, a 1991-batch officer of the ICoAS, prior to assuming the charge was holding the charge of Additional Chief Adviser (Cost).
Mathur is a qualified Cost Accountant as well as Chartered Accountant besides holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy & Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore/Syracuse University, USA.
He possesses a diverse work experience in various capacities at different Ministries/Departments, autonomous bodies and regulatory bodies like Department of Defence Production; ‘Finance Commission Division’ of Department of Expenditure; AIIMS Jodhpur; Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission; Tariff Commission, and GST among others.
As the Chief Adviser (Cost) Mathur is also the head of Indian Cost Accounts Service.
