Jashpur, March 02, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today declared that the farmers of the state would be paid Rs 13 thousand crore on March 12.
The difference of amount on purchase of paddy would be paid on March 12 next, Chief Minister Sai said in a function at Tama Munda village under Pharsabahar block of his native Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh today.
The difference amount that would be paid are about Rs 13 thousand crore, Sai said.
BJP had promised to pay Rs 3100 per quintal as the minimum support price of paddy if comes to power in the November 2023 assembly election and after Sai became Chief Minister the state government had paid Rs 2183 in the initial stage.
The difference of amount would be paid on March 12, next, the Chief Minister said.
This Khariff season the state government has procured more than 144.92 lakh tons of paddy from about 24.72 lakh farmers of the state, sources said.
The Chief Minister also announced to start a link court at Pathalgaon of Jashpur district.
In the next 15 days plucking of tendu leaves would be started in the state, he said adding the pluckers would be provided shoes and scholarship to their children as promised.
