New Delhi, December 19, 2008: In another set back to former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, one of his staunch supporter Yogesh Tiwari was today removed from the Presidentship of the Chhattisgarh Youth Congress.
“The National Executive Committee of Indian Youth Congress has decided to relieve Yogesh Tiwari, President, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Youth Congress with immediate effect,” Indian Youth Congress General Secretary Dr. Chayanika Uniyal, who is also the In-Charge of Chhattisgarh, said here today.
Tiwari is a close confidant of Mahasamund Lok Sabha member Ajit Jogi and contested from Raipur South assembly seat and defeated from Brijmohan Agrawal of BJP by a margin of 24,939 votes.
No reason had been given of the removal of Tiwari but sources said it was another blow on Jogi by his arch rival and the party high command after he was denied the post of the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly after he was elected from Marwahi Reserved seat.
The Jogi faction had not yet reacted to the removal of Tiwari.
