Raipur, July 30, 2024: Chhattisgarh Administration today said the last date for crop insurance is July 31, 2024.
Crop will be insured against the natural calamities like adverse weather conditions and lack of germination of seeds due to failed monsoon among others.
Crop insurance also provides protection against hailstorm, water logging, cloudburst, natural lightning, cyclonic rain and unseasonal rains.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, indebted and non-indebted farmers can get crop insurance by through the district cooperative banks and through customer service centres to avail the benefits of insurance.
This year, paddy, irrigated and unirrigated, maize, kodo kutki, ragi, tur, urad and moong crops of Khariff season are included. For the Rabi season, gram, wheat irrigated and non-irrigated, rai, mustard crops have been notified, for which 2 per cent of the total insured amount for Khariff crop based on loan value and one and half per cent of the amount insured for Rabi crop or the actual premium, whatever be, will be borne by the farmer as premium.
Premium and insurance amount of crops: The premium amount for irrigated paddy is Rs 1100 and its insurance amount is Rs 55000. The premium for unirrigated paddy is Rs 860 and its insurance amount is Rs 43000. The premium for maize is Rs 750 and its insurance amount is Rs 36000.
The insurance amount for pigeon pea is Rs 395 and its insurance amount is Rs 38000. The premium for black gram is Rs 540 and its insurance amount is Rs 27000. The premium for moong is Rs 270 and its insurance amount is Rs 27000. The premium for Kodo is Rs 160 and its insurance amount is Rs 16000. The premium for Kutki is Rs 170 and its insurance amount is Rs 17000. The premium for Ragi is Rs 150 and its insurance amount is Rs 15000.
