Raipur, December 28, 2008: The 14 rockets, recovered yesterday from two places of Raipur, are used in Bofors guns, officials said today.
The 105 MM high grade explosives are used in medium range Bofors guns, sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
A consignment was going from Badmal Ordnance Factory in Orissa to Maharashtra and in between it landed in wrong hand, they said adding it was being verified whether only 14 rockets were missing or that of more such munitions.
The incident also exposed the security arrangements of both the Railway police and that of Chhattisgarh Police.
Meanwhile, new Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar has directed the Police Headquarters to make thorough investigation of the matter and take appropriate steps so that there would not be occurrence of such incidents in the future.
