Marwahi, April 21, 2026: In accordance with the directives of the Government of India, a comprehensive survey is currently being conducted among families belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) residing in the Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh.

Officials stated that, acting on the instructions of the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, a comprehensive survey commenced on April 13, 2026.

This survey is being conducted via a mobile application across 54 settlements spanning 17 villages within 13 Gram Panchayats in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district.

The objective is to compile data regarding the socio-economic status, livelihood, education, health, and other basic amenities available to PVTG families residing in the district.

The Assistant Commissioner for Tribal Development informed that the survey targets a total of 7,940 individuals belonging to 2,396 PVTG families within the district. To facilitate this process, 16 survey teams have been constituted, and 70 surveyors have been appointed.

The primary objective of the survey is to conduct a holistic assessment of the living standards of the PVTG community and to ensure that they derive the maximum benefit from various government schemes.

Based on the assessment of the actual conditions of these families—determined through this survey—an effective action plan will be formulated to connect them with essential services and amenities, including education, healthcare, housing, drinking water, and livelihood opportunities.

Officials and staff members are visiting the field to personally interact with PVTG families and gather the necessary information. During these interactions, the survey teams are also providing community members with information regarding various public welfare schemes launched by the government.

The District Administration has appealed to the public representatives and citizens of the concerned villages to extend their cooperation to ensure the success of this survey initiative, thereby enabling the timely and effective delivery of government scheme benefits to PVTG families.
