Raipur, October 4, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today late evening called a high level and important meeting to take stock of the situation after the security forces, in a major success, shot dead 30 Maoists, including some top commanders.
Chief Minister Sai convened an urgent top level meeting of the security officials late evening and took stock of the situation.
Earlier in the day in a major success, at least 30 Maoists, including some senior commanders, were shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Thulthuli and Nendur forestry areas in the bordering districts of Dantewada and Narayanpur of Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
“We are determined to free Chhattisgarh from the menace of Maoist violence,” the Chief Minister said after the high level meeting.
For showing “exemplary courage” against the Maoists, the Chief Minister also congratulated the security forces.
The state Director General of Police had also been instructed by the Chief Minister in the meeting to take stern action against the Maoists, official sources said.
“This could be the biggest successful operation against Maoists in the country,” officials said in the meeting.
Meanwhile, state Home Minister Vijay Sharma met the injured security personnel at a private hospital at the capital city Raipur and said more bodies could be recovered in the searching operations.
“The backbone of the Maoists have been demolished as the entire company of the Maoists were wiped out in the encounter,” the Home Minister said.
On April 16, 2024 security forces had shot dead at least 29 Maoists guerrillas in Kalpar Jungle of Chhotebetiya police station of Kanker District.
However, this time the number of casualties of the rebels have been exceeded from the last incident.

Raipur November 20, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today discussed in details with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in New Delhi regarding expansion of air connectivity in the state and expansion of Raipur Airport.
After arriving in the national capital earlier in the day, Chief Minister Sai met Union Civil Aviation Minister Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi today.
The Chief Minister briefed the Union minister about the opportunity in expansion of air connectivity in the state.
Discussions were held on strengthening the air connectivity of the state and development of regional airports.
Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat and Investment Commissioner of Chhattisgarh posted in New Delhi Ritu Sein were also present in that occasion.
