Raipur, November 23, 2024: Top Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi today registered early lead in the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat by election of Kerala.
On the last Lok Sabha election Rahul Gandhi contested and won from two seats namely Wayanad and Rae Bareli and retained the seat from Uttar Pradesh and vacated his Kerala seat.

After the resignation of Rahul Gandhi Congress fielded his sister Priyanka from the Wayanad seat.
The counting of votes polled commenced at 8 am with postal ballots taken up first.
The bypoll for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat was held on November 13.

Of the 16 candidates who contested, the main contenders are Priyanka, who is making her electoral debut, CPI(M)-led LDF’s Sathyan Mokeri, a political veteran, and BJP-headed NDA’s Navya Haridas.
