Raipur, January 9, 2009: Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today said he would not only oppose and expose the BJP government in Chhattisgarh but depose also if needed.
Initiating the discussion from his Congress party on the motion to thank the Governor for his address, Jogi quoting former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, said he would oppose the state BJP Government, expose that and if needed depose that.
He also reminded the BJP of its promises of 2003 and said promises made to the people of the state need to be fulfilled and if that were not fulfilled in the last five years than the state had another term of five years this time and during this tenure that should be fulfilled.
Jogi drew the attention of the house towards the violence in Bastar region and said thousands of tribals were killed in the firing of police, naxal or SPOs and it was the responsibility of the state to check that violence.
However, replying to the discussion on the motion to thank the Governor for his address, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said the Salwa Judum would continue till the end of naxalism in the state.
Salwa Judum was a Gandhian movement and what the political parties had failed to do was being done by the tribals through the Salwa Judum, he said.
Singh also said he would provide better governance this time and BJP would be elected again for another five years term.
