Korba, January 10, 2009: Chhattisgarh Police today arrested the teacher, who took the vision of his student by pricking a needle for having failed to answer a question.
The Saraswati Sishu Mandir teacher Parasram Bhaina of Jurali village of Kathghora police station area of Korba district was arrested and sent to judicial custody, officials said today.

After the girl student failed to answer the question, the teacher allegedly assaulted her and then pricked a pin on the eye of his student, resulting in loss of eye sight by the little girl, according to a complaint to the local police.
Tehsildar B S Markam, meanwhile, said the statements of both the affected student Sweta Patel and the teacher Bhaina have been recorded on the issue.
The accused teacher recording his statement said he was trying to terrorise the students through an injection syringe and when he was throwing water on the student Sweta Patel for having failed to answer a question the needle was separated from the rest and pierced the eye of the student.
After a lot of hue and cry the state Education Department and the District administration have started probing the matter and all possible help was being provided to the affected student for her treatment, they said.
