Raipur, January 10, 2025: Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Chhattisgarh will become a bowl of vegetables and fruits along with paddy in the coming times.

Union Minister Chouhan, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Kisan Sammelan organized at village Khapri in Durg district today, said that the Central Government is promoting horticulture and gardening crops along with agriculture.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai presided over the meeting.

Chouhan said that Rs 203 crore has been released for incentives and grants to make the farmers prosperous and promote horticultural crops in Chhattisgarh. He appealed to the farmers to produce tur, moong, urad crops and set up processing units.
On this occasion, the Union Agriculture Minister inaugurated the building constructed by the Progressive Farmers Association and performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the training center. Also, a truck loaded with 200 quintals of vegetables was flagged off for the Maha Kumbh organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from January 13.
On this occasion, the farmers honored Union Agriculture Minister Chauhan by garlanding him and giving him a memento.

Addressing the Kisan Sammelan, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the state is getting full support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for its development.
He said that as soon as the state BJP government was formed, in the first cabinet meeting, 18 lakh houses were approved, fulfilling the guarantee of Prime Minister Modi. Fulfilling the promise of Prime Minister Modi, 21 quintals of paddy is being purchased per acre from the farmers of the state at the rate of Rs 3100.
Sai said that our government is committed to make the farmers strong and prosperous. Last year 145 lakh tons of paddy was purchased, this year it is estimated that 160 lakh tons of paddy will be purchased.
In his address to the Kisan Sammelan, Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam said that the farmers of Chhattisgarh are very hardworking and are becoming empowered and prosperous by adopting new agricultural techniques. Efforts are also being made by the Chhattisgarh government to get good prices for crops to the farmers and to increase production.
The Kisan Sammelan was organized by Chhattisgarh Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh in collaboration with the Horticulture Department.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Durg MP Vijay Baghel, MLA Domanlal Korsevada, former MLA Devji Bhai Patel, Dr Vimal Chopra, President of Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh Virendra Lohan along with other members of the Sangh and a large number of farmers were present.
