Raipur, January 15, 2025: Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar, while addressing the 11th convocation of Guru Ghasidas Central University Bilaspur today, said that the government jobs should not be the goal of life, rather the youth should look around themselves. The youth now have unlimited opportunities from earth to sky in the new India.

The Vice President said that the youth should move forward with skill and innovation while keeping pace with the changing technology and also never be afraid of failure in life, but move forward by learning from it.
In the ceremony, 85 medals including University Gold Medal, 09 Donor Medal, 01 Guru Ghasidas Medal and 01 Chancellor Medal were awarded to 78 students of session 2022-23 and 77 students who secured first position in the merit list of session 2023-24. Along with this, a total of 122 researchers of session 2022-23 and session 2023-24 were awarded PhD degrees.

Chhattisgarh is a mineral-rich state. There is a lot of potential for prosperity here, so make such a development strategy which increases collective prosperity and makes the development of the people possible, said Vice President Dhankhar.
Governor Ramen Deka said that students should respect diversity and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the country.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the convocation, said India has been famous as Vishwa Guru, behind this there have been universities rich in knowledge and science like Nalanda and Takshashila.
The youth power of Chhattisgarh has an important role in the reconstruction of not only the state but also the country, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the only central university of Chhattisgarh is established in the name of the great saint Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji, who is a symbol of knowledge, inclusiveness and our cultural pride.
This university has played an important role in advancing the intellectual progress of Chhattisgarh since its inception. Its reputation is not limited to our state only but has spread nationally and internationally as well, Sai said.
