Raipur, February 10, 2025: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today said Chhattisgarh has registered unprecedented improvement in health indicators in tribal-dominated areas of the state like Bijapur, Konta, Narayanpur, Bastar and Dantewada.

This improvement has been possible due to the effective implementation of maternal and child health improvement programmes in these areas, Nadda said.
The Union Health Minister said in his statement in Parliament that the rate of decline in maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate and under-five mortality rate in India has been more than double the global decline rate.
This success is the result of effective implementation of schemes run by the Health Department.
Nadda, specifically mentioning the tribal-dominated areas of Chhattisgarh, and said unprecedented improvement has been recorded in health indicators in Bijapur, Konta, Narayanpur, Bastar and Dantewada. This improvement has been possible due to the effective implementation of maternal and child health improvement programmes in these areas.
The multi-pronged strategies adopted by the Ministry of Health have accelerated this improvement and to make these efforts permanent, the quality of health services will be continuously improved, he added.

New change in Chhattisgarh with the cooperation of the Center and the State: Chief Minister Sai
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, terming this achievement an example of the cooperation of the Center and the State Government, said that this change has been possible as a result of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the effective strategies of Union Health Minister Nadda.
The Chhattisgarh government has ensured that quality health services reach even the most remote areas of the state, Sai said.
There has been a significant improvement in the care of mothers and infants in tribal dominated areas, the Chief Minister said.
The state government has not only improved health services, but has also taken concrete steps to strengthen and make health facilities accessible in tribal areas, he added.
Expressing gratitude to Modi and Nadda, Sai said that Chhattisgarh has received incomparable cooperation from the Central Government in the field of health facilities.
“Our government is fully committed to providing excellent health services to every citizen of the state,” Sai said.
The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government is determined to continuously improve the quality of health services. Special attention is being paid to the establishment of new health centers, availability of state-of-the-art equipment and appointment of health workers to ensure access to health services in remote areas.
