Raipur, February 14, 2025: P Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister and State Mineral Department Secretary today categorically stated that Chhattisgarh is a state with immense potential in terms of mineral resources, which provides an opportunity for extensive development in the field of industry, trade, and employment.

Participating in the ‘Pre-Bid Conference’ organized by the State Mineral Department regarding the auction of iron ore blocks of Bailadila area of Bastar region, Secretary Dayanand said that Chhattisgarh’s role will be important in realizing the resolve of self-reliant India, as huge reserves of high quality iron ore are available here in the state.
Investors from the mining sector and bidders from across the country participated in the ‘Pre-Bid Conference’, where detailed discussions were held on the auction process, investment opportunities and mineral resources.

On this occasion, the auction process of three world-class iron ore blocks located in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh and one block of Kanker district was discussed.
Senior officials and experts of the Mineral Department answered the questions of the participants and explained the e-auction process in detail.

State Mineral Department Secretary P Dayanand invited the bidders to invest in Chhattisgarh and assured them that the state government will provide them all possible assistance.
He said that the Bailadila region is the backbone of India’s steel industry and the development of this region will lead to a massive boost in the local economy and employment.
GSI Deputy Director General Amit Dharwadkar said that Chhattisgarh is the second richest mineral-rich state in the country.
Dharwadkar said that the iron ore region spread from Bailadila to Dallirajhara is counted among the important iron ore deposits of the world, which plays an important role in meeting the needs of India’s steel industry.
State Director Geology and Mining Sunil Kumar Jain, while highlighting the auction process and the importance of iron ore blocks, said it was necessary to ensure the availability of raw material to increase steel production in the country by 2030.
Joint Director and Nodal Officer (Auction) Anurag Diwan said that Chhattisgarh is one of the most suitable states for industrial investment and it will play an important role in realizing the vision of Developed India 2047.
Under the auction process, online tender documents can be purchased till 3 pm on 27 February 2025. The last date for submitting tenders is 3 pm on 28 February 2025.

Mining companies, industrial groups and investors from across the country participated enthusiastically in the pre-bid conference.
In view of the high quality of iron ore deposits located in the Bailadila region of Chhattisgarh and the favorable investment environment, a positive trend was seen regarding the auction process.
This event is also an important step towards establishing Chhattisgarh as a leading state in the field of mining and steel production.
