Special Police Force deploy in Raipur due to terror threat

     Raipur, January 22, 2009: Special Police forces have been deployed in the capital city and some more urban areas of Chhattisgarh today looking into the threat from terrorist organisations.

     A special force was being developed to specially deal with the urban terrorism and are being trained to handle sophisticated weapons, Police Headquarters sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.

     After evaluating some threat perception, a special force called Anti Terrorist Squad is deployed in sensitive places of the capital city here, they said.

      The forces are armed with automatic weapons and proper vehicle to deal with any situation.

      Chhattisgarh is already a victim of Maoist violence and any terrorist incident to any of the urban pockets would destabilize the state, security experts said.
