Raipur, January 22, 2009: Chhattisgarh government today affected a small change in the police administration and shifted Mohammad Wazir Ansari to the Jail headquarters as the new Inspector General.
Ansari was the Inspector General of Home Guard and he has been posted as IG Jail, according to the order of the Home Department today.
Similarly B S Maravi was today posted as the IG Home Guard in place of Ansari.
Maravi was ambushed by the naxalites in Sarguja during the assembly electioneering when he was posted there as the range Inspector General of Police and was on medical leave for a longer period.
After he resumed duty, Maravi was posted as the head of the organisation to deal against the atrocities on scheduled castes and scheduled tribes at the Police Headquarters.
However, looking into the work load and his health condition, Maravi had asked for a lesser work load post and he was accordingly posted as the IG Home Guard, officials said.
