Raipur March 26, 2025: Due to climate change the global temperature has increased because of which there is a possibility of severe heat wave condition in various parts of Chhattisgarh during March 15 to June 2025.

Due to heat, the health of the people is affected, and there is possibility of outbreak of heat stroke and seasonal waterborne infectious diseases. Hence it is very important to make preparations in advance to prevent heat stroke and to prevent, control and treat waterborne infectious diseases.
Keeping in view the circumstances, guidelines have been issued by the state government:
Symptoms of heat wave: – Feeling of heaviness and pain in the head, dry mouth with high fever, dizziness and vomiting, body pain with weakness, no sweating despite high body temperature, excessive thirst and less urination, loss of appetite, fainting.
Measures to prevent heat stroke: – The main reason for heat stroke is the lack of water and minerals, mainly salt, in the body due to staying in the hot sun for a long time.
To prevent this, the following things should be kept in mind: Do not go out of the house unless it is very necessary.
Before going out in the sun, cover your head and ears well with a cloth. Drink plenty of water, do not stay in the sun for a long time, and wear soft, smooth cotton clothes during summer so that air and clothes keep absorbing sweat.
In case of excessive sweating, drink ORS solution. In case of dizziness or nausea, rest in a shady place and drink cold water or if available, fruit juice, lassi, buttermilk etc. For initial advice, take free consultation from 104 Arogya Seva Kendra. In case of vomiting, headache, high fever, take necessary advice from the nearest hospital or health center.
Initial treatment to be done in case of heat stroke: – Apply a cold water bandage on the head of the person suffering from fever. Give more water and beverages like raw mango panna, jaljira etc. Make the affected person lie down in the air under a fan. Keep sprinkling cold water on the body. Immediately take the affected person to a nearby doctor or hospital for treatment. Contact Mitanin ANM for ORS packets.
