Raipur 24 March 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while extending a warm welcome to the President of India Draupadi Murmu on the occasion of the silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh Assembly today, said that it is the good fortune of all of us that when Chhattisgarh Assembly is celebrating its glorious 25 years, the first citizen of the country is present among us.

The Chief Minister said that the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh, formed in the year 2000 under the leadership of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, coincidentally falls in his birth centenary year, which the state was celebrating as Atal Nirman Varsh.
He said that the 25-year journey of the state assembly is a symbol of the strong traditions of democracy. Chhattisgarh has strengthened the Indian democracy that has been going on since the Vedic period through its works.
Sai said that Chhattisgarh Assembly has given priority not only to legislative work but also to the leadership development of the representatives.

The Chief Minister stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that the process of learning should continue. The Public Leadership Program organized recently for the members of the Legislative Assembly at IIM Raipur is an example of this, where training was given on important aspects of leadership and administration.
“We all are committed to building a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh,” the Chief Minister said.
Welcoming President Draupadi Murmu, Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said that the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly has the honour that for the third time the President of India has addressed the House.
Earlier, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Pratibha Devi Singh Patil had addressed the Assembly.
He described the simple, struggling and inspiring life of President Murmu as a source of inspiration for the women, public representatives and youth of the country.
The Speaker described the 25-year journey of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly as a journey of strengthening democratic values.
He said that a tradition of ‘self-discipline’ was established in the House, where the members set an example for the whole country by following the rules made by themselves.
Dr. Singh informed that Chhattisgarh Assembly has made a national and international identity in the field of parliamentary activities. He mentioned that Chhattisgarh Assembly passed the Public Service Guarantee Act in 2011, and the Food Security Act in 2012, which are symbols of Antyodaya and inclusive development.
The Speaker of the Assembly informed that soon the Assembly will shift to the new building in Naya Raipur.
He described the presence of the President as an indelible chapter in the memories of the House.
Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant heartily welcomed the President of India Draupadi Murmu and described her as a symbol of struggle, simplicity and service.
Mahant said that the life of the President is a source of inspiration for the entire country.
He expressed gratitude by describing the presence of President Murmu as historic and said that we all will take inspiration from her words and work together for the development of Chhattisgarh.
On this occasion, Governor Ramen Deka released the Legislative Assembly Member Reference Book and presented the first copy of the book to President Draupadi Murmu.
All the ministers of the Sai cabinet and all the members of the Legislative Assembly were present on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
