Kawardha, March 27, 2025: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister-Home Vijay Sharma today said that Rs 146 crore will be spent to strengthen the structure of the historic Bhoramdev temple and to expand and upgrade the temple complex.

While inaugurating the 29th two-day Bhoramdev Mahotsav in the premises of the historic Bhoramdev temple, Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that the Bhoramdev temple complex will be expanded and upgraded at a cost of Rs 146 crore. The historical structure of the temple will be strengthened and special works will be done to enhance its beauty.
On the auspicious occasion of Bhoramdev Mahotsav on the holy date Teras, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today approved Rs 146 crore for the conservation, promotion and protection of the surrounding historical sites including the Bhoramdev temple complex under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0.

He said that this amount will be used to develop places of historical and cultural importance like Bhoramdev Temple, Ramchua, Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal and Sarodha.

Sharma said that facilities will be improved for the devotees visiting the temple premises. Every year thousands of Kanwar pilgrims come to Bhoramdev, keeping in mind their convenience, modern sheds will be built for their stay. There will be proper arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, sitting and resting in the shed.
The beautification and structural improvement work of the temple premises, the open areas around the temple will be made green and attractive. Footpaths, sitting places and Parikrama Marg will be improved. Along with beautification of the temple pond, cleaning of the pond, arranging the banks, it will be developed as a beautiful tourist destination, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that after the completion of this scheme, Bhoramdev area will be established as a major center of religious tourism at the national and international level.
The cultural programmes of the two-day Bhoramdev Mahotsav started with the lighting of lamps and worshipping Lord Bhoramdev amidst chanting of mantras in the courtyard of the picturesque and historic Bhoramdev Temple, surrounded by the Maikal hill ranges of the Satpura Mountains.
The festival was inaugurated by the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. Besides Revenue and Sports Minister Tankaram Verma, Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey and Pandaria MLA Bhavna Bohra among others had also participated.
