Raipur, June 19, 2025: A Central Committee member and another top commander from Maoist organisation, who was responsible for attack on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in 2003 have been killed.
Three Maoists were killed in exchange of fire with Andhra Pradesh police yesterday at Kintukuru village in Alluri Seetharama Raju district, reports said today.
Among the killed were Maoist Central Committee as well as Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) Special Zonal Committee member Gajarla Ravi alias Uday alias Birusu and AOB member Venkata Ravi Lakshmi Chaitanya alias Aruna and Anju, it said.
High-ranking Maoist Aruna is the wife of slain Maoist leader Chalapathi and a key figure in the 2003 attack on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Alipiri forests in 2003 and her killing would be a significant blow to the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) organization of the Maoists, sources said.
Aruna’s mother Mavi and brother Azad were also in the Maoist organization and were killed in encounters in the past.
