Raipur, August 12, 2025: On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda today approved additional allocation of urea and DAP fertilizer to Chhattisgarh.
It is worth noting that the MPs of Chhattisgarh, led by Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, met the Union Minister Nadda in Delhi and discussed the supply of urea and DAP fertilizer to Chhattisgarh.
Agriculture Minister Netam and MPs, while informing about the additional requirement of fertilizers at the time of sowing in the Kharif season, have urged him to allocate 50-50 thousand tons of urea and DAP fertilizer to Chhattisgarh in addition to the supply plan fixed for the Kharif season.
On this Union Minister Nadda directed the Fertilizer Ministry officials to provide additional fertilizers to Chhattisgarh.
During the meeting with Union Fertilizer Minister Nadda, Agriculture Minister Netam and Lok Sabha MPs Santosh Pandey, Vijay Baghel, Kamlesh Jangde and Roopkumari Chaudhary and Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Bahadur Singh, Chhattisgarh Markfed Managing Director Kiran Kaushal and senior officials gave detailed information about the supply of urea and DAP fertilizers in Chhattisgarh.

They informed that the farmers of Chhattisgarh mainly grow paddy. In the Kharif season, farmers get into sowing and transplantation in the months of August-September. Currently, the work of sowing and transplantation is going on at a fast pace. At this time, in view of the rapid growth of paddy plants and better production, farmers need more phosphatic fertilizers.
The delegation told the Union Minister that according to the supply plan, Chhattisgarh was scheduled to receive 5.99 lakh tons of urea and 2.68 lakh tons of DAP till July, against which the state has received 4.63 lakh tons of urea and 1.61 lakh tons of DAP.
For the month of August, a supply plan of 57,600 tons of urea and 36,850 tons of DAP has been fixed. Since these fertilizers are required the most in the month of August. Therefore, in addition to the fixed supply plan, a request was made to provide additional quantity of 50-50 thousand tons of urea and DAP.
Fertilizer storage and distribution in Kharif season
Agriculture Department officials said that in Kharif year 2025, the target of fertilizer Urea-07.12 lakh tons, DAP. 03.10 lakh tons and MOP- 60 thousand tons has been sanctioned by the Government of India, against which till 11 August, 06.72 lakh tons of urea, 02.14 lakh tons of DAP and 80 thousand tons of MOP have been stored.
The officials informed that regarding replacement of DAP, as alternative fertilizers, NPK has been stored at 02.37 lakh MT against the target of 01.80 lakh MT and SSP at 02.95 lakh MT against the target of 02 lakh MT. Similarly, the shortage of DAP is being met with NPK and SSP fertilizers.
