Raipur, September 11, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect programme in Jagdalpur today, said that Bastar is at the center of our new industrial policy.

“This area, full of mineral resources and abundant natural wealth, has immense possibilities of development,” Sai said.

He told the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect-Bastar function at Jagdalpur that apart from Japan and South Korea, he has also held investment summits in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Nava Raipur.

“After the implementation of the new industrial policy, we have received investment proposals worth about Rs 6 lakh 65 thousand crore so far.”

In the new policy, special grant provisions have been kept on the core sector along with IT, AI, pharma, textiles, electronics and green energy, he said.

Maoism was pricking like a thorn in the path of development of Bastar and Naxalite terror had kept the development of Bastar in its grip. His government had resolved that they will bring Bastar into the mainstream and make it the central axis of developed Chhattisgarh, he said.

“Our brave soldiers and Bastar residents fought Maoism with courage and determination and today Bastar is moving ahead on the path of writing a golden chapter of investment by erasing the dark history of Maoism,” Sai said.

The Chief Minister said that by March 2026, even the remaining signs of Maoism will end and Naxal-free Bastar will move forward on the path of development even faster.

Sai said that after Tokyo, Osaka of Japan and Seoul of South Korea, they have chosen Bastar division for the next series of Investors Connect programme.

The foundation of building developed Chhattisgarh will be laid on the basis of rapidly developing industries. Keeping this in mind, grant provisions and incentives have been kept in the new industrial policy for investment in the state and more than three hundred and fifty reforms have been made in accordance with the resolution of ease of doing business and speed of doing business, he said.

Along with attractive grant provisions, they are also providing such infrastructure to the entrepreneurs so that they can set up their enterprise in the industrial sector as soon as the investment proposal is approved from the single window system, Sai said.

Nava Raipur is an example of this, where India’s first AI data center park has been built. Pharmaceutical park, Medicity and Global Capability Center are also being built there.

If they talk about the status of industrial infrastructure in Bastar, then new small industrial areas are being established in all the districts and development blocks, he said.

Sai said that although there are grant provisions on new investment in the entire state, but special provisions have been made for Bastar. In the new industrial policy, 88 per cent of the blocks of Bastar have been marked in Group-3. Entrepreneurs will get maximum benefit by investing here.

The Chief Minister said that Bastar is the paradise of India and tourism has been given the status of industry so that people come to see it on a large scale. Entrepreneurs who will invest in the tourism sector in Bastar will get 45 per cent subsidy. This will create golden opportunities for investment in the areas of hotel industry, eco-tourism, wellness, adventure sports etc. With special grants on home stay, local entrepreneurs are also getting opportunities in the tourism sector.

Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that the new industrial policy of the state is proving to be attractive and beneficial for investors. So far, investment proposals worth Rs 6.95 lakh crore have been received, which has given a new direction to the industrial development of the state.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-in-charge Vijay Sharma said that a rice mill is being established in Bijapur for the first time.

He informed that the tamarind market of Jagargunda, which was closed for years, has been restarted.
