     Raipur, September 13, 2025: A newborn baby found in Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) Bilaspur was formally handed over to Child Line Bilaspur today after treatment and care.

     Giving details of the matter, official sources said on August 15, 2025, a 20-year-old woman was admitted to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of CIMS for delivery. A son was born after delivery on 15 August.

     The mother was discharged on 16 August itself. The family kept coming to see the baby till 24 August, but stopped coming from 25 August. The mobile numbers provided for contact were also found to be wrong, the sources said.

     After this, the baby was admitted to the Pediatrics Department and kept in the NICU ward, where proper care was taken by the team including Head of Department Dr. Rakesh Nahrel, Dr. Sameer Kumar Jain, Dr. Salim Khalkho, Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Dr. Jai Kishor and Sister Incharge Vibha Shrivas, Sarojini, Kamlesh, Meera Dewangan and Aaya Bhavana Sidar and Pushpa.

     As per the orders of Joint Director and Superintendent Dr. Lakhan Singh, the process for rehabilitation of the baby was started from September 11, 2025. Today the baby was formally handed over to Child Line.

      On this occasion, Child Helpline in-charge Chandrashekhar Tiwari, Supervisor Aastha Singh and Chandraprakash Shrivas and social worker Vikas Sahu (Seva Bharti Matrichhaya, Bilaspur) were present.

     CIMS Dean Dr. Ramanesh Murthy said that proper treatment and protection has been provided to the newborn. Now for his bright future and rehabilitation, he has been handed over to Child Line, where his proper care and upbringing will be ensured.
