Raipur, March 23, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will directly transfer a sum of Rs 10,000 into the bank accounts of 495,965 landless beneficiaries under the ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ On March 25 from Balodabazar.
Official sources stated today that landless agricultural labourers—the architects of Chhattisgarh’s rural economy—are now entering a new era of economic security.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai, the state government’s ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ is not merely a financial assistance programme; it is also a monumental endeavor aimed at ensuring a life of dignity for the last person in society.
Under this scheme, a sum of Rs 10,000 per beneficiary will be directly transferred into the accounts of 495,965 landless beneficiaries this year. To this end, the state government has allocated a total provision of Rs 495 crore, 96 lakh, and 50 thousand.

This list also includes 22,028 Baiga and Gunia families, who serve as the custodians of the state’s cultural and traditional heritage.
The state government had provided record-breaking assistance through this scheme last year as well. In 2025, a total sum of Rs 562 crore, 11 lakh, and 20 thousand was distributed to 562,112 beneficiaries at the rate of Rs 10,000 each. This consistent trend in the statistics demonstrates that the state government is working with unwavering commitment toward the economic empowerment of landless families.
The ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ has proven that when a government’s intent is sincere and its policy is clear, the light of development reaches every single hut.
The most significant feature of this scheme is its inclusive nature. This year’s beneficiary list also includes 22,028 Baiga and Gunia families. These are the people who have preserved ancient medicinal traditions and cultural heritage.
By integrating them into the mainstream, the government has conveyed the message that, within the spirit of ‘Antyodaya’ (upliftment of the last person), even the individual standing at the very end of the line remains at the absolute top of the administration’s priorities.
The ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ serves as a boon for those rural families whose primary source of income is wage labour.
The government’s primary objective is to provide these families with a fixed annual financial assistance, enabling them to fulfill their basic needs—such as education, healthcare, and daily necessities—without incurring any debt.
The financial assistance previously provided to them has been increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 per annum, an amount that is deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
