Raipur, March 28, 2026: In view of the evolving situation in West Asia, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today convened a high-level meeting to conduct a comprehensive review of the availability and supply mechanisms for petroleum products, LPG gas, fertilizers, and other essential commodities, issuing necessary directives to officials.

Against the backdrop of the situation in West Asia, Sai held a high-level review meeting via video conferencing from the Chief Minister’s Residence in Raipur with all Divisional Commissioners, Inspectors General of Police, District Collectors, and Superintendents of Police across the state.

Sai remarked that, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foresight and sensitive leadership, the nation remained united and successfully weathered even challenging situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

He clarified that while the current situation does not mirror the COVID-19 crisis, it remains essential to exercise vigilance.

Sai assured the public that there is no shortage of petroleum products, gas cylinders, or fertilizers within the state; citizens are, therefore, advised not to pay heed to any rumors.

The Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Modi has held detailed discussions with all states regarding the West Asia crisis and has provided assurances that the supply of essential commodities will continue without disruption. A control room has been established at the state level, and a high-level committee is continuously monitoring the situation.

He issued directives that control rooms be established in every district as well, and that the Secretaries-in-charge and District Collectors conduct regular reviews. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to ensure the timely dissemination of factual information to the general public to counter rumors and misleading reports.

Directives Issued for Strict Action Against Black Marketing and Hoarding

Sai issued clear instructions that strict action be taken against anyone engaging in the black marketing or hoarding of essential commodities. He directed that the storage and supply operations at all petrol pumps and gas agencies be monitored on a regular basis.

He further instructed officials to work with a spirit of teamwork to ensure the uninterrupted availability of services to the general public under all circumstances.

During the meeting, officials from HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL apprised the Chief Minister that there is no shortage of gas or petroleum products in the state, and that supplies are continuing without interruption.

Online booking for gas cylinders is operating normally.

A timeframe of 45 days has been stipulated for Ujjwala gas connections, and 25 days for general gas connections; currently, bookings are being processed in accordance with these prescribed intervals. There are no disruptions whatsoever in the transportation of petroleum products, and the situation remains normal across the entire state.

Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel stated that a control room has been established at the state level to continuously monitor the prevailing situation. Consumers may report issues, complaints, or instances of black marketing related to domestic gas supply by calling 1800-233-3663.

He issued directives to ensure widespread publicity for the aforementioned number so that accurate information is made available to the general public in a timely manner, and the prompt redressal of complaints is guaranteed.

During the meeting, instructions were issued to maintain constant vigilance regarding news reports concerning the supply of gas, petrol, and diesel. Misleading reports could potentially trigger panic; therefore, immediate cognizance must be taken of such reports to ensure that factual information is disseminated to the public.

Directives were also issued to maintain special surveillance over social media platforms and to sustain regular dialogue with media representatives.
