Raipur, May 13, 2026: Adhering to the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh’s Finance Minister O P Choudhary today decided to refrain from using pilot vehicles, escort cars, and other protocol vehicles until the situation returns to normalcy—barring only those instances involving absolutely critical security-related exigencies.
Choudhary stated that he took this decision in response to Prime Minister Modi’s appeal. He clarified that these vehicles would be utilized solely in situations involving extreme security imperatives.
Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s call for fuel conservation and the prudent utilization of resources, Chhattisgarh’s Minister for Tourism and Culture Rajesh Agrawal has also decided to forgo the use of pilot vehicles, escort cars, and other special protocol arrangements during his official tours.
Minister Agrawal remarked that, given the current circumstances, saving fuel is not merely an economic necessity but also a national responsibility. He explicitly stated that he would not utilize any form of pilot vehicle, escort car, or special protocol until normal conditions are restored.
Chhattisgarh’s Minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Laxmi Rajwade has issued directives to suspend the use of pilot vehicles, escort cars, and other special protocol vehicles until the situation stabilizes—with the sole exception of instances involving critical security requirements.
Minister Rajwade noted that Prime Minister Modi has been consistently inspiring the citizens of the nation to embrace self-reliance, environmental conservation, and a frugal lifestyle.
Internalizing this very message, she has taken this decision with the aim of enabling both the government and society to collectively reinforce a spirit of responsibility and discipline.
