Raipur, May 17, 2026: In a significant initiative aimed at making emergency services in Chhattisgarh more modern, prompt, and citizen-centric, the ‘Next Gen CG Dial 112’ Integrated Emergency Response Support System (ERSS 2.0) will be launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Officials stated today that, on this occasion, a Mobile Forensic Science Laboratory and 400 state-of-the-art ‘Dial 112’ vehicles will also be inaugurated.

Operational in the state since 2018, the ‘Dial 112’ service has provided assistance to lakhs of citizens during emergency situations. While its services were previously limited to 16 districts, they will now be expanded to cover all 33 districts of the state.

Through this new system, more effective assistance can be provided in areas such as crime control, women and child safety, road accident response, medical aid, and situations involving public crises.

As part of the preparations for the event, State Home Minister Vijay Sharma inspected the venue today and reviewed the arrangements. He directed officials to complete all preparations for the programme in a time-bound and systematic manner.

‘Next Gen CG Dial 112’ is an innovative initiative towards technology-driven good governance in the state, through which services such as police assistance, fire services, medical emergency aid, women’s helplines, child helplines, disaster management support, and highway emergency services are being made available on a single integrated platform. This ensures prompt and coordinated assistance for citizens.

This advanced system incorporates modern features such as a centralized Command and Control Center, GPS-enabled emergency response vehicles, GIS-based real-time monitoring, an automatic call location identification system, and technology-enabled dispatch management.
