In NITI Aayog’s “Champions of Change” programme; Chhattisgarh Tribal block ranked second at the national level

Under the “Champions of Change” programme conducted under the guidance of NITI Aayog, the Usur Development Block of Bijapur district has achieved the second position at the national level in the Central India Zone in the October-December 2025 quarter with excellent performance.

      Raipur 22 May 2026: Under the “Champions of Change” programme conducted under the guidance of NITI Aayog, the Usur Development Block of Bijapur district has achieved the second position at the national level in the Central India Zone in the October-December 2025 quarter with excellent performance.

      The officials said that this achievement is a significant recognition at the national level for the people-centred development thinking of the state government, effective implementation of the schemes, continuous monitoring and coordinated efforts of various departments.

      This success is not limited to Bijapur district but also underlines the effectiveness of the development model of the entire Chhattisgarh. This achievement has given new national recognition to effective access of governance schemes, improvement in service delivery and positive change in development indicators, especially in aspirational and remote areas.

       It is noteworthy that under the “Champions of Change” programme run by NITI Aayog, the performance of development blocks is evaluated on important parameters such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and allied services, infrastructure and social development. 

     The Usur Development Block has achieved this remarkable achievement on the basis of effective implementation of various schemes, better results and departmental coordination.

      They said that behind this achievement, the “3C model” adopted by Bijapur district – convergence, collaboration and competition have emerged as an important basis. Through this model, a result-based work culture was developed by encouraging convergence of schemes, public participation, departmental coordination and positive competition.

      Under the convergence, the schemes of other departments including health, women and child development, panchayat, education, agriculture were implemented in an integrated manner. Through cooperation, active participation of field practises, public representatives and community was ensured, while positive competition was promoted for better performance at the development block level through competition.

      Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the second position of the Usur development block of Bijapur at the national level in the Champions of Change programme of NITI Aayog is a moment of pride and confidence for the entire Chhattisgarh.

      He said that this achievement shows that our Chhattisgarh is now setting new standards of development, good governance and public welfare in aspirational areas as well. Remote zones, once recognised for challenges, are today making their name at the national  level on the strength of Health, Education, Nutrition, Infrastructure and effective implementation of schemes.

      Sai said that this success is the result of our people-centred development thinking, departmental coordination, continuous monitoring and commitment to extend the benefits of the schemes to the last person.
