Bhubaneswar, May 29, 2026: Jharkhand Police has arrested a Maoist leader, who was carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
The ‘chief commander’ of the banned People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Maoists, has been arrested yesterday from Ranchi district, media reports said.
On information of a gathering of the leader of the PLFI with other comrades police raided the area and arrested Amrit Horo (34) alias Surya from the Mahugaon forest area within Ranchi district’s Lapung police station area, the reports said.
Based on information, a special squad comprising the Quick Response Team (QRT) and other police personnel conducted a raid, cordoned off the area and arrested Horo, it said.
At least 50 criminal cases are pending against him in several districts, including Chaibasa, Khunti, Gumla and Ranchi,” Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan was quoted by the media.
