Raipur, August 01, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Deepak Ratre, a resident of Sakti district and Bhupendra Bhaina, a resident of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district in a cowardly attack by terrorists on migrant workers from Chhattisgarh in Kulgam, South Kashmir.
Condemning this heinous and inhumane terror incident in the strongest terms, Sai announced that the state government would provide financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh each to the families of the two deceased workers.
He stated that targeting innocent citizens is a crime against humanity and such cowardly acts are unacceptable in any civilized society.
Sai affirmed that the Chhattisgarh government stands firmly and with full sensitivity alongside the bereaved families during this hour of grief.
The Chief Minister mentioned that upon learning of the incident, he instructed senior state government officials to contact their counterparts in the Jammu and Kashmir administration to establish necessary coordination. A nodal officer will be appointed by the state government to coordinate with the Jammu and Kashmir administration and oversee the entire process of providing all possible assistance to the families.
Praying for the peace of the departed souls, Sai wished for the bereaved families to find the strength to bear this unbearable loss.
