Raipur, September 19, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today said that the state has received investment proposals exceeding Rs 8.23 lakh crore so far.
The materialization of these proposals will expand industrial activities in the state and create large-scale employment opportunities, he said.
Addressing an event in Ambikapur, the Chief Minister said that the state government’s Industrial Policy 2024-30 has been designed with a focus on employment. It includes special provisions for various sections of society, including women, alongside incentives for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
He noted that, recognizing the growing potential of tourism in the state’s economy, it has also been granted the status of an industry.
Sai stated that the state government has recently approved the ‘Chief Minister’s Startup and Nipun Mission’ to give a new direction to the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth. A provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for this initiative over the next five years.
Under the Chief Minister’s Startup and Nipun Mission, plans are in place to establish entrepreneurship development centers in all 33 districts of the state. Additionally, 100 emerging technology labs and 5 industry centers of excellence will be set up. This will provide youth with better opportunities to advance in the fields of new technologies, skills, innovation, and startups, he said.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the state government has also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30. Its objective is to connect the state’s small industries, local products, and value-added agricultural and industrial goods with major domestic and global markets. This will open up new markets for local entrepreneurs and garner widespread recognition for Chhattisgarh’s products.
Highlighting the economic potential of the Sarguja region, Sai noted that there are vast opportunities in sectors such as tourism, agro-based industries, food processing, and local products. With tourism gaining industry status, new avenues for investment and employment are emerging in sectors related to hotels, home-stays, and tourism services.
