Jagdalpur, October 05, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today said that while Bastar has long grappled with the scourge of Naxal violence, the region has now emerged from that era and is advancing towards a new direction of development.

Addressing a programme virtually under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign), Chief Minister Sai remarked that this event is not merely about the distribution of equipment but represents a significant step towards the dignity, self-reliance, and empowerment of differently-abled individuals.

More than 3,800 needy individuals from the Bastar, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, and Kanker districts of the Bastar division have registered for the massive three-day free aid and assistive device distribution camp held at the Dharampura Sports Complex in Jagdalpur.

Through this initiative, citizens who have lost limbs due to Naxal-related explosions, road accidents, or other causes are being provided with artificial limbs and assistive devices to enable their self-reliance.

Reassuring victims who lost limbs due to violence, Sai told them never to feel alone, emphasizing that the entire government and society stand with them with deep sensitivity.

Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the Chief Minister highlighted that the government’s goal is not just to free Bastar from violence but to build a peaceful, empowered, and developed Bastar.

Having endured the horrors of Naxal violence and landmines for a long time, Bastar is now emerging from the darkness and moving rapidly along a new path of peace, trust, and development.

Deputy Chief Minister-Home Vijay Sharma stated that eradicating Naxalism is not limited merely to security force operations; rather, empowering every citizen who lost a limb to landmines or IED blasts, thereby enabling them to stand on their own feet, is the true way to eliminate the final traces of Naxalism.

The Deputy Chief Minister made special mention of the resilience shown by villager Santosh Poyam (an IED blast victim) and police personnel Rakesh Kumar Yadav and Ghasiram Manjhi (injured in the line of duty), all of whom are now ready to walk without support with the help of prosthetic limbs.
