National Disaster Response Force, SDRF, Army, Navy and Air Force have been deployed along with local forces for the rescue operation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting Morbi tomorrow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also announced an ex-gratia from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the victims of the mishap in Morbi.

Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each of those who lost their lives in the mishap and the injured would be given Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, Congress today demanded a judicial probe into the Morbi incident, alleging that prima facie it seems to be a case of “criminal negligence” and “gross misgovernance”.

Reports suggested that a CFL bulbs, wall clocks and e-bikes manufacturer had been given contract to maintain the century old bridge.
