Agharia caste under OBC List

     Raipur, February 03, 2012: Agharia caste has again been included in the list of other backward caste category, officials said today.

     Government of India has again included Agharia caste under the OBC list of Chhattisgarh, a PIB release said here today.

     The Centre has also published that order in the Indian Gazette, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charan Das Mahant said.

     Agharia community and especially Akhil Bharatiya Agharia Samaj has expressed their deepest gratitude to Mahant for taking steps in including their caste under the OBC list.

     Besides PCC President Nand Kumar Patel and senior legislature Dr Sakrajit Nayak, the Agharia community has produced many eminent personalities in the state.
