Raipur, October 28, 2022: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today said arrangements for paddy procurements throughout state are near completion.
Almost 80 to 85 per cent of the arrangements been completed for procurement of paddy by the state government, Baghel told reporters here.
Previous years the farmers had faces problems due to shortage of gunny bags. But this time the state government has procured sufficient amount of gunny bags, the Chief Minister said.
Learning from experiences from the previous years, the state administration was in constant touch this year with the national Jute Commission to meet the demand, he said
This Khariff season Chhattisgarh government targets to purchase 1.10 crore tons of paddy from the farmers of the state.
The state government will start purchasing paddy from November 1, 2022 and will continue till January 31, 2023 from above 24 lakh registered farmers of the state.
