Raipur, September 20, 2014: Bhojraj Nag of BJP today won the Antagarh by-election.

The BJP candidate defeated his only rival Roopdhar Pudo of Ambedkarite Party of India by 51530 votes.

BJP candidate Bhojraj Nag got 63616 votes where as Roopdhar Pudo of Ambedkarite Party of India got 12086 votes.

Interestingly 13506 voters preferred NOTA, which is bigger than the runners up.

The constituency had a total electors of 157983 and 89208 votes were polled during the by-election held on September 13, last.

Bhojraj and Pudo were only in the poll battle as 12 candidates, including Congress party candidate Mangtu Ram Pawar had withdrawn their candidature.

BJP has thanked the voters for the victory.

However, PCC General Secretary Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said the election reflected the resentment of the voters.

Had there not been resentment, NOTA (Non Of The Above) would not have been in the second position after the BJP winner, Trivedi argued.

BJP got victory by murdering democracy in Antagarh, he said.
