Raipur, September 18, 2016: Chhattisgarh PCC President Bhupesh Baghel today demanded resignation of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Home Minister Ram Sewak Paikra over the custodial death of a scheduled caste youth in Janjgir-Champa district.
The PCC President along with his party leaders and workers also staged a dharna today in front of the CM House at Civil Line over the death of a dalit youth in police custody.
“People had gone to complaint against the electricity Department and police killed a Dalit. So we are demanding resignation of the heads of both the departments,” Baghel told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Since the Chief Minister was having the charges of Electricity and Police was with Home Minister Ram Sewak Paikra Congress has been demanding the resignation of both of them, he said.
Raipur Police, meanwhile, arrested Baghel and his leaders and workers for staging dharna in front of the CM House and took them to the Central Jail only to release them after an hour.
Satish Kumar Narange had gone to the Mulmula electricity office for demanding restoration of power in his locality as there was no electricity in his Sagarpara area of Mulmula police station for the last one week.
However, he was picked up by the Mulmula police and subsequently he was found dead in Police custody yesterday, Congress leaders said.
