Raipur, September 23, 2012: Main opposition Congress today charged the ruling BJP government in Chhattisgarh of wasting over Rs 1000 crore in the name of bio-diesel.
“The adamant state government has wasted over Rs 1000 crore in the name of extracting bio-diesel from jetropha,” Chhattisgarh PCC leaders said here.
Despite having spent over Rs 1000 the project had been proved total failure, PCC President Nand Kumar Patel and Congress Legislature Party leader Ravindra Choubey claimed in a joint release.
Without any proper plan the state government went ahead in setting up five extraction plants for bio-diesel, which are now closed down as the project became a total failure, they claimed.
The PCC leaders also claimed because of use of jetropha extracted bio-diesel, several vehicles, including some from the convoy of the Chief Minister broke down.
