Raipur, December 20, 2009: A prominent RSS leader and Raipur District BJP General Secretary Manoj Prajapati was reported missing from yesterday and looking into the sensitivity of the matter, his party has declared Rs 1 lakh award for any clue of his whereabouts.
Prajapati was last contacted at about 9 PM yesterday and after that he was missing, and the party and the family believed he has been kidnapped, senior BJP leader Sachidanand Upasane told reporters.
State BJP leader Chhagan Mundda feared political reasons behind his missing and said since Prajapati is an influential leader he could have been kidnapped because of his influence in the ongoing election for Raipur Municipal Corporation.
Brother of Prajapati, Gunjan, is also a BJP candidate in the local body election in Raipur.
BJP would give Rs 1 lakh to any one for providing any information about the kidnapped leader, said BJP leader Rajiv Agrawal.
When contacted, police officers said the scooter of Prajapati has been recovered in partially damaged condition from an isolated place of the Raipur city and they are probing his whereabouts.
BJP leaders and workers are not happy with the police action and many of them have even complaint to Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh about the increasing crime graph of the capital city.
