Raipur, October 04, 2026: Just before the October 6 polling, political parties are trying to woo voters in the final round in Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly constituencies in West Bengal.
Campaigning in Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly constituencies for the October 6 bypolls would end on Sunday evening.
Opposition Congress nominee Milan Pradhan has been leading an intense canvassing since hitting the campaign trail on Thursday after getting bail from the Calcutta High Court, as he tries hard to make up for the lost time, media reports said.
He was arrested on September 18 in connection with six cases dating back to the 2007 anti-land acquisition agitation in Nandigram.
The Congress nominee was arrested after Mamata Banerjee extended her TMC faction’s support to him since her own candidate Sanchita Pradhan Dey withdrew from the Nandigram contest following a meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, they added.
