Raipur, September 30, 2009: BJP National President Rajnath Singh today said the Centre took time to react to the call of naxalites, and also called for a centrally sponsored integrated plan to combat the menace.
Singh was here today to express his condolences to the family of Baliram Kashyap over the killing of his son and Bastar BJP Janpad Panchayat Chairman Tansen Kashyap by cycle borne naxalites on September 26.
.Talking to reporters at the Chhattisgarh capital, Singh said the Centre took time to react to the activities of the Maoists in the country.
There was every need for drafting of an integrated plan by the Centre to deal with naxalism, the BJP President said.
After meeting bereaved cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap at Pharsaguda in Bastar District, Singh also said the Kashyap family never succumb to the pressure of the Maoists.
The Central leader also said the Maoists targetting people’s representatives was a serious matter.
