Chhattisgarh becomes 9 years old today

     Raipur, November 1, 2008: Chhattisgarh today completed eight years. But the model code of conduct imposed by the Election Commission has converted the Rajyotshav celebration a low key affair in the state.

    Governor E S L Narasimhan would inaugurate a week long cultural function this evening at the Science College Ground.

     Meanwhile, the State government had decided to decorate all its buildings with lights for two days up to November 1.

      Due to the imposition of Model Code of Conduct for Assembly November 2008 assembly election, the entire celebration of Rajyotshav was missing a spark as many of the active organisers are either busy in poll campaign or conduct of poll.
