Raipur, April 24, 2025: On the instructions of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, an important decision has been taken to make the revenue administration transparent and the process of land transfer easy in the state.
Under this, the powers of land transfer by the Tehsildar under sub-section (1) of Section 24 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code have been given to the Registrar, Sub Registrar posted in the district.

These officers will be authorized to execute the registered sale deed in their jurisdiction.
A notification has been issued in this regard by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Tank Ram Verma called it a public welfare and visionary decision.
He said that simplification of the land transfer process will reduce land-related disputes in both rural and urban areas. Common people will get convenience and the possibility of corruption will be reduced.
Revenue and Disaster Management Department Secretary Avinash Champawat said that this notification has come into effect from today and instructions have been given to implement it in all the districts.
Under the notification issued by Revenue and Disaster Management, now the registration officer registrar or sub-registrar has been given the right to transfer land on the basis of sale deeds registered in that area.
Earlier this right was vested with the Tehsildar, who used to work under section 110 of the Land Revenue Code. Now this change will increase transparency in the land purchase and sale process and the process of transfer will be completed in less time.
