Raipur, December 24, 2011: For amending Panchayati Raj Act, Chhattisgarh Government has formed a high level committee, officials said today.
A nine-member committee has been formed to make necessary amendment in the Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act 1993, official sources said.
Director Panchayati Raj and Social Welfare Alok Awasthi has been made Chairman of the committee where as Additional Director R R Athia has been made Secretary, they said.
Panchayat Raj and Social Welfare Joint Director B L Dhruv, Joint Directors M L Pandey, N S Thakur, Deputy Directors M D Banjara, P K Deepak and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Raipur Zilla Panchayat Ashok Choubey and Deputy Director Development Commission, Raipur S Alok have been made members.
The committee would submit its report with in three months, the officials said.
